November Family Adventure – November 19, 2022

Our very first Family Adventure will take place on November 19, 2022, at the Adventure Science Center located at 800 Fort Negley Blvd, Nashville, TN 37203. Plan to arrive at 9:00 am. Please RSVP by Wednesday, November 9 using the link below with the total number that will be attending from your family (including your scout(s)). Please list the names and ages of everyone attending in the comment box.

***For any scout who met their popcorn goal of $1200, this event will be FREE for you and immediate family (mom, dad, siblings under 18) that live in your household. For those that did not meet the $1200 popcorn goal, the cost will be $8 for each scout planning to attend, $12 for any siblings (age 2-12), and $16 for any adult planning to attend.***

If you plan to attend and didn’t meet your goal, all monies should be paid to the Pack via cash, check, or Venmo (@CubScout-Pack-351) no later than Friday, November 11. Anyone that has not paid by that date will not be able to attend at the discounted price and will have to pay full price at the door.

Class B Store is OPEN

FINALLY!! Took a while to get this put together with our supplier, but I’m happy to share the Class B store is OPEN! There are t-shirts, moisture wicking shirts, hoodies, and baseball caps this year!

Points to know:

🔹If your scout is NEW and never received a Class B shirt from the Pack, the pack will supply those. DO NOT ORDER ONE FOR YOUR NEW SCOUT (unless you just want an extra one!) we will be confirming shirt sizes before the end of the ordering period.

🔸 Orders are taking up to 4 weeks to produce AFTER the store closes. This means it’s highly unlikely that we will receive our items before our fall campout. 😞

🔹 This will be the ONLY round of orders for the school year. If you think you want a hoodie later, don’t wait! It will be another year before the store opens back up!

🔸 Orders will be picked up by the pack and distributed at in person meetings and/or at a designated pick up day. Items will not ship to you.

Fall Campout – October 21-23, 2022

Our Fall Campout is quickly approaching! We will be at Boxwell Scout Reservation in Lebanon, TN.

  • Fill out the Registration Form
  • Submit Payment – $25 per attending scout (@CubScout-Pack-351 on Venmo or in person at the September pack meeting)
  • Make sure everyone’s Health Forms have been updated (anyone that comes to camp must have a form on file – NOT just the scout)

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do we have to camp overnight? No! You can attend for just the day portion on Saturday. We do ask that you arrive around 8:00 am (time subject to change) to participate in the opening ceremonies on Saturday.
  • Can we bring our camper? No. You can only do tent camping at Boxwell.
  • We’ve never camped before and don’t have a tent. What do we do? Many families have more than one tent. Ask around your den or in our Facebook group to see if you can borrow one for your first camping adventure.
  • What clothes should we bring? Class B T-shirts should be worn on Saturday. Otherwise, comfortable and weather appropriate clothing. Bring extra shoes, as it might be muddy and we often camp next to the lake.
  • Will we have access to bathrooms/showers/electricity? Yes! Our usual campsite is next to a bathhouse with lots of bathrooms, showers and we will have access to electricity if you need for medical equipment. We do recommend bringing a charging brick or plan to charge your phones in your cars.
  • I’m scared to camp! Should I still come? Yes! We will have such a great group of families that have camped in the past and will have lots of helping hands to make it an enjoyable experience. It’s one of the easiest points of entry into camping.
  • Can I bring siblings, grandparents, etc? Yes! We just need a health form for anyone on the property.
  • We may need to leave and come back due to some other obligations. Will we be able to come and go? Yes and no. Once you’re parked in the camp area, you will not be able to drive in and out to keep the kids at camp safe. There is a parking area further out where you can come and go, it’s just a bit of a walk, so plan accordingly.

Popcorn shifts are now open to sign up for AS MANY shifts as you want. There are still many openings. Let’s fill them up and sell that popcorn!

Health Forms

It’s that time again… ALL SCOUTS – returning and new must fill out new health forms this fall. They are good for 1 calendar year and we request they are updated in the fall every school year. These must be filled out for each family member that’s attending events. (ie… Adult Chaperone/Guardian or sibling … if they come to an event, we need a form on file)

Pack Hike – 9/10 @ 9am

The September Pack Hike will be at Edwin Warner Park in Nashville on Saturday, September 10th at 9am. Please park at the Nature Center. We will be hiking the Harpeth Woods Trail (approx 2.5 miles). Pack your 6 Essentials and make sure your scout is carrying their supplies.

Attire: Comfortable, weather appropriate clothing. Class B t-shirt if they have it.

Den Meetings

You should be hearing from your Den Leaders by this week. If you haven’t heard from your leader, please let us know so we can check your contact information!

Attire: Class A Uniform for Den Meetings unless instructed otherwise by your den leader (some messy activities, we wear Class B t-shirts)

Pack Meeting – 9/27 @ 6:30pm

The September Pack Meeting will be on Tuesday, September 27th at 6:30pm. We will be in the Marvin Wright Cafeteria.

*Bears will be presenting the colors and leading us in the opening ceremonies. Your den leaders will prep you on specific information for this.

I hope your first days back in school have been great! Our leaders met last night and we have a great month of activities and events for our kiddos.

Recruitment Events

This is a great time for your scouts to invite friends to join! Did you know if they invite friends and they sign up, they are eligible for a special “Recruiter” patch? Now’s the time to earn it! These events are for potential new scouts – returning scouts do not need to attend – just tell your friends!

  • Thursday 8/18 @ 6pm – Battle Creek Roundup

Welcome Back Picnic

This is our first annual Welcome Back picnic! This is a great time for returning scouts and new scouts to mingle, have fun and build friendships! We have the pavilions at Harvey Park reserved and will have hot dogs and drinks available. RSVP and sign up to bring a side/dessert to share!

  • Saturday 8/20 @ 5pm – Harvey Park

Pack Hike

The Pack Hike will be at Old Stone Fort on Saturday 8/27. This will be a great time to welcome new scouts into the fold and have a fun time together! The loop is about 2.7 miles and everyone should park and meet at the park office/museum. We will be hiking the Enclosure Wall Trail. Please make sure to wear proper shoes and bring water. Also don’t forget to have your scout bring the 6 essentials for the hike. Remember, scouts should be carrying their own pack.

Mini-Golf Adventure at SOAR Adventure Tower

SOAR Adventure Tower – Franklin, TN

The scouts are going mini-golfing!! Please indicate your scout name in the notes section of your RSVP.

The Pack will cover the cost for each scout and one adult chaperone to play the full 18 hole course. Additional tickets will be a discounted $9 each.

Feel free to pack a lunch and definitely bring your water bottle! They have a covered picnic area where we can have lunch together after we play.

Pinewood Derby Rules

Since we gave out Pinewood Derby cars at the November Pack meeting, below are the official rules for assembling the cars. Please follow these rules rather than the ones that come in the box.

If you were not able to attend the November Pack meeting, please let us know and we can arrange a meet up to get your Scout their car.More information about the Derby will be coming out in January as the race will be in February.

items will be available at Marvin Wright on October 19th, 2021 during Den Meetings (6pm-7:30pm).

We *highly* encourage you to pick up your items before our Boxwell campout! It’s great to have our scouts in their pack shirts when we are at camp!

This includes all PURCHASED shirts and all NEW scouts can pick up their FREE shirt at either time slot.
